Save money with Asian air passes PDF Print E-mail

If you are planning on traveling to a number of countries in Asia, one of the best ways to save money is with a multi sector Asian air pass.

Two of the major airline alliances, One World and The Star Alliance offer these special fares. These passes allow you to purchase coupons for a number of flights within Asia for a flat rate for each flight, ranging between USD59 and USD 270.

If you fly into Asia from The USA, Canada, Central and South America, Europe, Africa or The Middle East on one of The Star Alliance member airlines, you will be eligible  to purchase The Star Alliance Asian Airpass. This allows you to buy from three to six coupons costing between USD59 and USD270.

The price is determined by the distance flown. The pass is valid for flights on Thai, Singapore Air, Asiana Airlines Lufthansa and United Airlines and must be bought in conjunction with travel to Asia on a Star Alliance partner airline.

More information can be found at The Star Alliance website.

If you are flying into Asia on one of the Oneworld partner airlines, Aer Lingus, American Airlines, British Airways, Cathay Pacific, Finnair, Iberia, LAN or Qantas, you can take advantage of Oneworld Visit Asia Pass.

You can take up to twenty flights on the pass with a minimum of two, and you only need to book the first sector in advance. There is a flat rate for each flight, determined by which of the three sectors the flight is in, the South East Asia Zone (SEA), the North East Asia Zone (NEA) and the  South Asian Sub-Continent Zone (SASC). For example from Hong Kong to Bangkok is USD145; Tokyo, USD260; Cebu, USD135.

You may need to fly though a hub to get to each destination.

More information can be found at the OneWorld website or you can download the Oneworld Visit Asia Pass information below in your preferred language.
